I had a very good stay at this hotel in Hawthorn. the rooms were spacious and well-furnished, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The bathrooms were also spacious and clean. Secondly, the location of the hotel within Hawthorn was convenient and surrounded by great cafes and restaurants. Lastly, the staff were welcoming and provided excellent service throughout my stay. Plus, the hotel had a lively pub bar and outdoor dining area, which added to the overall atmosphere. The value for money was definitely worth it.
All was fine during my stay at this hotel.

Location and the Victorian style room
A little noisy and needed a blind/certain in the bathroom, let too much light in the morning.

The location was good with a train station close and tram line on the next street. Parking was provided free and the staff were helpful.
It was rather noisy with a damn street sweeper coming past at 5am on a Sunday morning! We were given a room on the second floor when it appeared there were very few guests staying, and it was rather awkward with bags etc. The room was nice and the bed huge, and the bathroom was good too. Being on a main road made it rather noisy and our room overlooked this road.

This hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of Hawthorn! The value for money here is fantastic, with affordable prices that won't break the bank. The attention to detail is evident, from the clean and well-maintained rooms to the classic design that adds a touch of elegance. The staff here are friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a comfortable stay. The basic amenities provided, including air conditioning and a fridge, are convenient and make the stay more enjoyable. The location of this hotel is perfect - right above a bustling beer garden and close to various food options. it's a great choice for anyone looking for a cozy and affordable stay in this vibrant township.
All was perfect, no complaints whatsoever.

The family room was perfect for our needs and we loved the huge spa bath.
Very small car park. On website it was not clear that the family room was actually 2 adjoining rooms.

Location Location, Location! Close to the train station & tram stops. Plenty of eateries nearby. 10 mins into the CBD. Great selection of shops within walking distance plus two large supermarkets.
Being an old hotel, there were no double glazed windows. They had tried to dull the traffic noise with a magnetic 2nd window attachment but not really a good long term solution.

The rooms at this hotel were spacious and comfortable, with a classic design that added charm to the stay. The addition of a spa tub in some rooms was a great touch, allowing guests to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. The location of the hotel in the Hawthorn township was convenient, providing easy access to local attractions and a suburban feel that was a nice alternative to staying in the CBD.
No improvements needed, everything was satisfactory.

Loved the atmosphere of the Hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfy and the spa bath was very nice. Well appointed rooms.
If you stay here, you are better off staying on the top floor. You get pub noise from downstairs staying on the first floor.

Old style building with lots of charm. Pub food downstairs is excellent, Double glazing on windows keeps even street front rooms quiet. Not flash and fancy, but very clean and cosy. Happy to stay here anytime.

Spent Easter in an old-style hotel with character. Loved the big and comfortable bed, and the room had a spacious bathroom with an amazing rain shower head. The friendly staff provided excellent service. The hotel's prime location was perfect, right near public transport and restaurants. Free parking was a plus.
The hotel lacked a lift and required climbing several flights of stairs to reach the rooms. the street noise at night made it hard to sleep, especially on the weekends.

Our daughter enjoyed the stay at the hotel because she loved the bathroom. She also loved it because she enjoys learning history, so she loved the design of the building.
At night we heard a noise coming from the floor above us, so we did not sleep well.We tried to ring reception at 1.00 am in the morning but no answered. In the morning we were tired. In the morning when we didn't see any staff.( We knew the Hotel opened at 9.00 am ) please check the room above I think it may be heater or fan.

The room was extremely comfortable! I enjoyed my overnight stay. The breakfast is great value, you get a good feed for a very minimal price. Visitors staying at the hotel should understand that the hotel and the bar are in the same building but the noise from downstairs is minimal - there's actually more street noise if you happen to have a room that faces onto Burwood Road.
I understand that this is essentially a pub with a hotel attached, however if the reception sign says that the desk will be manned from 9am on a Saturday, then there should be someone there from 9am - not 9.20 or 9.30 or whenever someone feels like showing up. That would be the only thing I didn't like about my stay. I had to leave early and couldn't wait around for someone to turn up.
